Synopsis :

One bright morning, a young woman who's secretly in love with her neighbour sees a very peculiar messenger swoop into her garden...

Benshi's review :

Full of sweetness and poetry, Air Mail explores how to say “I love you” to the person you cherish. Revealing your feelings is no easy thing – especially when a sneaky cat and a goldfish start meddling in the romance between their seemingly very different owners: a man-mountain of a boxer and a very petite young woman. The message of love delivered by a paper bird is comically mishandled all throughout the story, so much so that we wonder if it will ever reach the intended recipient! Viewers see love bloom between the boxer and his neighbour but the characters themselves are too shy to acknowledge what’s happening. Happily, chance intervenes in their favour. A series of amusing mishaps, in which the cat and the goldfish are to the fore, cause delays to this famous message but, ultimately, the creatures help bring them together. Using delicate cut-paper animation, this film tells a touching and entertaining story in which love is depicted as a game of chance and beautiful surprises.
