Without a word being said, this hilarious film delights us with its fake serious tones and a chain of preposterous mishaps. Yet the day gets off to a good start for these two strapping lads who do a special and high-risk job. They are genuine mountain rescuers. The situation is critical: a person is in danger so there is not a moment to lose. The two men rush to the red helicopter, the vital vehicle for reaching peaks that can be more than 3,000 metres above sea level. As the mountain summit comes into view, the electro rock music sets the pace. That is when a bit of slapstick slips in. The victim inspires laughter more than pity, as all we see are his feet sticking up in the air! The rest of him is buried in the snow. The rescuers pull him out and pack him onto a rescue stretcher, wrapped up and strapped in so tight he can barely move. Cold can do terrible things to the human body. One false move and anything could happen. Sure enough, the helicopter slides off the mountain and falls to its ruin, crashing in a ball of fire at the bottom. But the rescuers sense of adventure burns no less brighter, so a peculiar trio begin a downward trek through an enormous mountain range. They concoct decidedly odd ways of overcoming a variety of obstacles, with their strapped-in survivor helpless to do anything other than watch and hope. Farcical, full of adventure and featuring a surrealist sequence rich in poetry, this rescue story reaches high peaks of entertainment. A gem that promotes a noble cause.
