A superhero is strong and brave, but there’s one thing that can make him as vulnerable as any mortal being: love!
Jean-Michel the Caribou watches over the small town of Vlalbonvent and one morning, like every morning, he does his fitness exercises, dons his blue suit and zooms off into the air thanks to his reaction rackets. Everything is going as normal until he catches sight of Gisèle, the camel nurse. His heart starts beating like a drum, his legs turn to jelly and he loses all his powers. No doubt about it, he’s lovestruck! But Jean-Michel is very, very shy. With the help of his friend and “love coach”, the tapir, he tries everything to make his feelings known to Gisèle, and he remains persistent in the face of failure. But no matter what he does, the object of his affections remains unmoved until, at last, Jean-Michel finds the right way to communicate with his beloved.
The film finds a charming and humorous way to tackle the question of people’s first romantic feelings and, above all, matters relating to disability and communication difficulties. The dialogue has fun with pronunciation and language, and young viewers will get a laugh from the jokes even as they are guided – very carefully - towards very serious issues. A lovely education that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
