Autumn is coming and soon it will be time to migrate! That’s easy enough for birds, you might say … But it’s no simple matter for Lemon and Elderflower – because they don’t yet know how to fly! This amusing pickle forms the basis of this cheerfully slapstick short film full of twists worthy of Wile E. Coyote of Looney Toons fame (by Tex Avery). Director Ilenia Cotardo quickly brings these two papier mâché puppets to life and their stunts and onomatopoeic utterances provoke plenty of laughter.
In the vein of Laurel and Hardy, the partners are never short of ideas. If something needs to be invented, no problem, they’ll get it done! Like their black-and-white predecessors, the two birds prove that persistence pays. In spite of their clumsiness, nothing stops them, and soon their little adventure becomes much bigger than they had imagined. So then, who wants to learn to fly with this lovable duo?
