A bored tree seizes his chance to go discover whatever is around his forest. Capering through fields, the city and even the sea, he comes across a motley array of characters. With each new meeting his joyful posse swells, eventually including a farmer, children, birds, flamenco dancers and workers: each of the characters, who on the surface seem so different, become wrapped up in the adventure.
The tale's repetitive structure gives the romp a bracing feel. Like the music that accompanies our heroes, the japes of the tree and his little band keep coming back like a chorus. Young viewers will be highly amused by the comedic repetition, which will also introduce them to musical and visual rhythm.
The colourful, very simple drawing has a childlike quality. Slightly rough features and doodled colours define and enliven this flight of fancy, making it all the more irresistible!
This extravagant tree will carry kids along with him as he discovers the world and other creatures in a high-spirited, slightly bonkers cavalcade. Fun and laughs are guaranteed!
